The location is superb, just positioned perfectly between Windermere and Ambleside with gorgeous views over the Lake. Our room had everything we needed with such a comfy bed and tastefully decorated. The staff were very friendly.
It was slightly noisy at night outside our room and I thought the decor of the leisure facility was a bit dated and old fashioned.
Friendliness of staff faultless.Location was great for getting around. Our room was exceptionally comfortable but we did find the bar prices slightly expensive.
The hotel was in a fabulous location with great views, it certainly looked like one of the nicer places to stay in the area
Some of the wait staff had difficulty understanding English which caused a mix up with our wine order, but this was a minor problem in the scheme of things.
professionalism and friendliness of staff. beautiful location, quality of room. my wife is wheat/gluten free, kitchen catered for her requirements, one of a very few to do so. cannot praise highly enough.
cannot find fault anywhere. anyone who does so is very, very picky!!
Its location, the willingness of the staff to help and its ambience
Lovely views across the lake
Situated on quite a busy road and not withing walking distance to shops and restaurants
Breakfat is very important and it was good quality bacon and sausage etc the service was also nice and attentive. The downstairs deccor is imaginative and good quality.
The price of £168 for a double room is very high, the room we were in was very very small !!! and have stayed in lot better rooms for less money !!
The scenery of the lake was gorgeous. The staff were most helpful and provided quality service. They understood customer needs and provided a personal touch. Breakfast was a good spread with a variety of fresh fruits.
During our short break we found the Hotel excellent for cleanliness, location and standard of amenities. The staff were efficient and courteous. The standard of service and food quality both for breakfast and evening meal was excellent. We will certainly be returning to Low Wood Hotel again.
Very attentive staff, especially in the dining room. Comfortable lounge areas. Wonderful views from the windows overlooking the lake.
I would have expected bread rolls to be included with the dinner menu and not as a starter. A minor point but something I have never across before.
The fantastic views over Lake Windermere
Too expensive for what it is
Thought the staff very helpfull, efficient & smiley happy people. The hotel seamed very well organised. I got a a lake view at no extra cost. Will defo stay here again. Loved the place. The breakfast was fab to.
Nit picking really, but no mini bar, & I went for a drink in Ambleside & getting a cab back can be difficult late at night, we ended up walking home. Because I booked it late & for easter Sunday it was a tad expensive @ £147!. But loved the place.
The staff were welcoming, providing courteous and friendly service. The location was picturesque and relaxing; a little way out of the main village right on the lake. Best of all the hotel was family friendly, we didn't feel like pariahs traveling with a baby who likes to giggle and squeal with excitement.
We had an excellent holiday. We travel quite a lot and the most outstanding thing to us was the staff, so helpful yet so professional.
The only negative thing I can say about the hotel is it's proximity to the trunk road with the attendant problems of noise and pollution (room 47 faces the road and is not double glazed) There is also a crossing hazard with real danger to young children accessing the lakeside.
